Looking Forward to...

The August release of the third book in this trilogy, Mockingjay. I first learned about The Hunger Games in my Children's literature class two semesters ago and kinda shrugged it off as a book that I probably wouldn't get into. About a month after my semester ended, I ended up reading some of the book in a Barnes & Noble and bought it. It was finished within 24 hours, if I remember straight. After finishing book one, I immediately purchased Catching Fire. These books are so captivating and reading them reminded me of when I was growing up with Harry Potter, hanging on to every last word in every chapter without the ability to put it down! I am super excited for August! My boyfriend and several other friends that I've recommended this to are also as excited. It's so awesome to be able to recommend books to people and hear them agree with your opinion!

There are other things that I'm looking forward to, but The Hunger Games Trilogy was on my mind for some reason.

I think I'm going to try to read as many books in the next two weeks as possible...

One for One

So recently, I bought a pair of TOMS. Not to be a cool hipster-type college student, but because I really think the cause is worth the 50-ish dollars I paid for them. I'm not sure how I feel about them yet because I have not worn them out in public (I work at a summer school- I don't want the kids to ruin them!). The website says that if you wear a size 10, you should order a 9 1/2. I got a 10 anyway because I'm pretty sure that I'm a 10 1/2 in real life.

Here are some things I'm worried about:
1) they will smell bad after wearing them and Sean will make me throw them away
2) they won't hold up long enough (1+ years)

3) my TOMS will hurt my feet

If my feet end up smelling/causing the shoes to smell, would foot powder solve that problem? I'm willing to try anything. I had these really awesome shoes when I first met Sean (and I mean, I really loved the heck out of them) and they were Keds/flats. They smelled horrible and made my feet stink hours after wearing and one day Sean threw them away. Bastard.
I also really want my TOMS to last and be comfortable because Sean and I are having a bet. He's betting they suck and aren't worth the money and refuses to buy a pair- no matter who is benefiting from it. I'm betting that they are as comfortable as everyone says and... well, I think it's obvious how I feel about "one for one". Sean is one of those types who feels that if anyone else likes it, he definitely AT ALL COSTS must not. It's very frustrating sometimes, honestly.

Midway

This summer is uneventful, but some really great things have happened. I can only hope that these "great things" are signs for a much better year. (Not saying last year was a bust, just saying I see room for growth!)

Every time I review my blog, I think of so many different things that I want to do with it... I want to review books, products I use, express my feelings, write something meaningful... I feel like it would be an unorganized mess. Also, I doubt that a blog title of "Twenty-Something and Dangerous" would suit a blog reviewing a good read... I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I'm sorry this blog has no true direction.

My goals this summer are to get healthy, read more, and be happy. I have not really worked on being healthy, to be honest! It's not easy when it's hotter outside than what I'm used to. Maybe I should blog about my rationale behind completing simple tasks and the factors that influence me... I have read more, though. Although it has only been 2 books, to be honest... !
